The Eastern Slow worm is a legless lizard, morphologically almost identical to the Slow worm. It is characterized by a brown body, with dark colored flanks, especially in juveniles and females. In males, blue spots on the body may be noticeable. They reach a length of up to 50 cm, and about half of the total length of the body is the tail. It inhabits the eastern parts of Serbia (from Vršački breg to Stara planina mountain).
